Endangered plants in danger
| One of the things that are getting damaged are carnivorous plants. Carnivorous plants are plants that can't survive alone on sunlight, water, and soil so they eat insects. They don't only eat insects they can also eat small or pieces of meats. | |
There are more than 645 species of carnivorous plants and some of those species are extinct because of human development.
| One of the most popular carnivorous plants are the Venus fly traps, probably because it eats with its mighty leaf jaws. As you can see here it has teeth like triggers, whenever the prey touches one of the triggers twice that tells the plant that something is there so it quickly shuts its jaw tight, then it releases a ooze inside that sucks out the meat of the insect and then digests it which takes a couple of days after that it opens up and all that is left is the crispy exoskeleton of the bug and waits for its next victim. |  |
| You can find them in moist and boggy places like Australia, Florida, and other tropical places. You might have even seen them on movies or cartoons like Little Shop of Horrors and Pokemon. |

If you plan to grow carnivorous plants then don't expect them to stay alive for long because they are a very hard to grow you have to be a very skilled gardener in order for them to survive on your first try so try planting more than one to get better chances of having at least one alive.
| Another popular carnivorous plant is the pitcher plant. As you can see here it is shaped like a pitcher so it has the perfect name. Inside it is the same ooze a Venus fly trap uses to digest its food. The insects love that ooze so much that they just die for it literally, they'll jump inside to drink it but then it realize that it will drown so then it panics and tries climbing out but the inside is too slippery and there's little hairs inside to weaken it until finally it gives up and drowns and sinks to the bottom with all of the other victims. |
