Crisis: In the Face of Danger

Disaster Strikes!

"It's better to prevent than to later lament," a basic saying heard from childhood yet with definite meaning. What do you do to prevent lacking what you need? Who do you go to for help if you've been struck by unfortunate circumstances? And, if you're not in that situation but would like to do something to help those in need, What can you do? This is the page created to help give you sources that answer those same questions. Even if it's not a natural disaster that put you in crisis. Post-Script: I tried to keep this as national as possible, though one or two sites may be local to Houston, TX.

In the case that you are in a crisis, wish to prevent a crisis, or wish to volunteer--Here's The American Red Cross

Volunteers....

If you wish to be a volunteer, then congrats! You've now joined a force of thousands of youths and adults working to make a difference for those in need. Helping out at shelters, the salvation army, disaster distress relief, crisis hotlines and centers, the American red cross, helping at your local food bank, the ASPCA, The Humane Society, or making a donation, anything counts when you are displaying the humane thought of compassion and care. If you wish to volunteer or work at any of these options, locate your local center and ask for an application and begin your journey to help--the little you do will help change the life of another in a way you couldn't imagine.
