Water:
Substance of Life, Mother To
All |
WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THIS SITE IS ALL ABOUT
WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 |
|
Agua, H2O, Water. Whatever you may call
it, you need it. Water, the substance from which all
life is spawned, is the one axiom of life among
multicellular Earth creatures. Face it, if that precious
liquid is threatened or in shortage, it can turn life
into a hellworld of war. A lack of water can kill any
human or animal within days, it can unleash the most
primal of instincts in the fight for survival, among
many other issues. That treasured elixir, our mother
that gives us the world we live in, can also be our
justice that creates and destroys in a cycle of balance;
Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Storms, landslides, are the
embodiments of our mother-destroyer teaching us a
lesson. When disaster strikes close to home, or even a
world away, it is our job, as the lesson is learned, to
start anew and help those who now need it.

The Science About
Water
The water on earth as existent today, theoretically took
1.8 billion years to get the way it is. Asteroids from the
outer-solar system belt fell upon the surface of the earth
until it turned into the oceans, seas, lakes, ponds, and
ground water we need to survive. Water is limited, so it
recycles itself in a recurring cycle known as the water cycle:
Evaporation, condensation, precipitation, runoff/storage.
Chemically, water is a universal solvent, a polar covalent
molecule created by two atoms of hydrogen for every one atom
of oxygen. It is unique in its own way, just as it makes a
part of what our world is, the solar system's distinct little
blue planet. .gif)

Society as Affected by
H2O
Modern cities have developed water treatment
systems to transform the water around us into drinkable
freshwater. However, in other regions of the world that isn't
a reality. In developing countries around the world, there
exists strict water discipline, irrigation, and more extensive
technology is required--technology that in certain situations
isn't available or affordable. Cultures and religion also
surround water. Myths, legends, and stories about how the rain
was created, how the water on earth started, and even a few
creation stories here and there. Art has been inspired through
the centuries. This is but a brief description on the eternal
impact of water on the inhabitants of the earth.
